Bozbuk beach is a place that has gone straight to my heart. The strange aspect is that the beach is just part of a small village which is not really attractive at all.
Bozbuk as a village consists of a holiday complex and a dirty housing site as you drive into the area. There are small Turkish cottages dotted over the landscape that don’t really catch your eye.
I ignored all of these buildings and concentrated on picking up the vibes that were leading me to the beach. It is a simple beach with just two local restaurants and a house. I cannot describe the vibes. It is just a feeling of simplicity and stress free living.
Could it be that the best things in life are simple things that don’t take a lot of planning or energy? Could the vibes be related to the fact that Bozbuk is off the beaten track and void of the telltale signs that hit a lot of the other tourist resorts? If ever there was a temptation to give up the rat race and become a beach bum, then this is it.
Bozbuk Beach and Bay in Milas
There is definitely something about Bozbuk that I cannot quite put my finger on however I am not bothered about finding out. I am happy to enjoy beach life in a quiet, secluded area of the Aegean coast. If you find yourself in the area and want to see this beach for yourself, just head for the resort of Akbuk and from there drive five minutes until you reach the neighboring resort of Bozbuk. Once you find the beach, take time out to relax and enjoy the true face of Turkey.
